Ms Kathleen Florian — Executive Director, Crime
Ms Kathleen Florian graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Law (Hons) and in 1992 was admitted as a barrister of the Supreme Court of Queensland.
Ms Florian commenced her career with the Queensland Director of Prosecutions in 1988 before joining the National Crime Authority in 1993. She stayed on with the Australian Crime Commission when it was established in 2003, and from 2009 headed the agency’s operations in Queensland until joining the Crime and Corruption Commission in 2012. In 1999, Ms Florian was awarded the Geoffrey Bowen Memorial Award, the highest individual award offered by the National Crime Authority.
Ms Florian is an organised crime specialist with 28 years’ experience in criminal law and the investigation of serious and organised crime at a national and a state level.
